Apply for a water meter

If you have just purchased or moved into a property, you can apply once you have your customer reference number and first bill.

If you’re moving in to our region for the first time or moving to another property within our region, you can let us know online.

You may already have a water meter

As part of our ongoing work to reduce leakage and improve service efficiency, some properties already have a water meter installed outside, even if it’s not currently being used for billing. If our records show that a meter is already fitted to your supply, we’ll update your billing to charge you on the meter from the date of your application.

  • We won’t write to you separately to confirm the change
  • You’ll receive a final statement for your unmeasured (non metered) account before meter billing begins

Your 10 digit customer reference number can be found in the top right corner of your bill, on your My Account dashboard, or the reference on your payment if you pay by direct debit.
